Responsibilities
- Primary responsibility is to work with senior Credit Officers in actively managing the credit aspects for the portfolio of borrowers which comprise local corporates and financial institutions domiciled in Southeast Asia, particularly Singapore
- Due diligence on the borrower, industry and credit requirements working closely with clients and origination units such as Corporate and Investment banking and FICC in arriving at credit proposals that meet client requirements as well as the bank’s policy and risk appetite
- Preparation of credit analysis and credit memos including financial spreading and analysis, working capital calculation and credit due diligence of local borrowers per local regulatory requirements and facilitate local unit approval.
- Initiate credit documentation preparation, participate in negotiation process and execution of credit documentation.
- Perform ongoing portfolio monitoring and identify, escalate & manage emerging risks in the portfolio.
- Good understanding and compliance with both internal and local regulatory policies.
- Engagement in internal/external/regulatory audits, reporting, surveys and examinations.
- Participate in the country and regional projects.
Qualifications:
- Able to interpret and analyze financial statements.
- Basic understanding of banking products across Loan, Trade Finance, Transactional Services & Treasury.
- Experience with reading/interpreting credit documents and loan agreements.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Has an analytical mind and takes a proactive attitude towards problem-solving.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance with 1-3 years experience in banking and finance and/or track record of relevant experience.
