Job Description – Babylon Job Openings

• You are a modern Java or Python developer who knows Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, relational databases (Postgres), and event-based systems (Kafka)
• Experience working on teams practicing Agile and/or Scrum methodologies
• Able to effectively collaborate with the team as well as take initiative and work independently to solve problems
• Regularly seeks to turn ideas into action and injects creativity into every touch point
• Strive for excellence in all you do and always look to improve our products and services
• Communicate effectively in a cross-functional product development team and present ideas and designs effectively
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to architectural discussions and code reviews
• Proactively consider security implications of the work
• Is up-to-date on latest advances in technology and on best practices and guides the team appropriately
• Understands the stack in-depth and is able to troubleshoot issues, including production issues, from application through to infrastructure

• 5+ years of experience in building backend applications
• Hands-on experience in Java or Python, Spring boot, MongoDB or RDBMS
• Proficiency in writing secure, scalable, and performant code for a cloud environment
• Good experience in testing frameworks like JUnit and Mockito
• Experience with AWS services is a plus
• Experience working on GraphQL APIs is a plus
